79 power windows
Need help 1979 power windows. Replaced new gear passenger side, goes down real well, does not want to come up. Needs lots of help. Driver side works, almost makes it up, not worked on it yet. Thinking new coil springs, rivet and rollers. Gettin good at gettin window apart.

I had similar trouble with my 82. When re-assembling the regulator gear to the motor, the regulator gear must be in the full "down" position. That way, the spring is more wound and able to push the window into the up position.

Pass side could be dirty switch and/or loose switch bottom. Mine turned out to be dirty which caused original refusal to go up. Then after cleaning it, I forgot to push back the the tabs on the bottom on one side of the switch which was the second reason it didn't go up. Easiest to check: put driversside switch in place (note: works reversed then) tot test up/down function.
