Default Cam I.D. please?

Out of curiousity, can anyone I.D. the wiped out cam I removed from the 1974 454 I want to rebuild?
There are no manufacturer markings that I can find, and there are only so many places to hide on a cam so I don't think I overlooked any markings.
Looking straight on at the cam the numbers Z024 are at the top along with E929P.
Then there was a casting number in 2 places on the body of the cam in the gaps between the lobes. The first is EP2 and the second is 20.
Thanks guys!

The cam identification numbers are usually written or stamped on the nose or butt of the cam. If it's not either, then it's probably not marked.

The first 2 numbers I gave were stamped on the nose. Couldn't think of the proper term!

Elgin Pro Stock E-929-P

I & E = .544" lift / 292* duration (230* @ .050")

There's one on feeBay for $133.99

Don't have specific knowledge of this stick, but speculate that it idles a bit roughly and is marginal, at best, at producing idle vacuum. Compared to CompCams Magnum series, it has less duration @ .050" and lift than the 292H, which has 244* / .550", while the 280H has 230* @ .050" / .520" lift. Both Magnums have 110* LSA, but I think (guessing here) the Elgin in question is at 109* LSA. I'd think this 929 cam probably performs somewhere in between these two Magnums, but might be a bit peakier (if that's a word) and could idle a touch rougher with less vacuum, by comparison.

Quoting Elgin info for durations in this range: Rough idle quality – (Note: Intake vacuum may be too low for power brakes, etc.) Good mid-range torque in 3000 – 4000 RPM range. Good mid-range power operating range 2200 – 5400 RPM. Average fuel economy cam not recommended for towing. Increased compression ratio best, 10.5 to 1 or 11.0 to 1. Some engine modification required. Use manual or automatic transmission with high stall converter. Recommended spring pressure 120 lbs. for valve on seat; 300 lbs. for valve open. Axle ratio at 3.90 to 4.50 to 1 is best. Recommended for limited oval track.

The Magnum 292H says: Street/strip applications. 10:1+ compression, 3000+ stall or 4-speed, 4.10 or lower gears & aftermarket intake. Very rough idle. Range 2500-6500.

The Magnum 280H says: Great for street machines. Use headers and 9:1+ compression. In 396-402 use 2500+ stall, lower gears. Rough idle. Range 2000-6000.

Hope that helps.
