I have 2 small vac. hoses that route thru the firewall. 1 is for the vac. switch that the heater hoses route to, the other I'm assuming is the source for the control panel, where does this land in the eng. compartment?
What year? (Filling out profile would help). On my 71' w/o A/C, there are 2 vac hoses that come thru the firewall left of the accel cable, one goes right to the vacuum check valve coming off the manifold and the other (white stripe) goes to the headlight relay valve mounted ahead of the rad support.
Oops, 76 350 with a/c. I've accounted for the vac. hoses for the headlight assembly.
I believe these other vac. lines are for the heater controls. They route thru the firewall on the center-right side of the firewall, both are black and small ID, 1/8" or less. According to the service man. on the heater a/c controls there are 2 vac. lines that go thru the firewall, 1 goes to a vac. switch that I believe the heater hoses route to; the other is a source line, I'm not sure where to land this line.
Thanks
This a 78 but should be close.About 2:30ish oclock in the pic is a T.2 black hoses about 5/16 and one hose thats black and real small with a larger yellowish connector. The real small black tube is the interior feed on this 78.
Now I understand why the yellowish connector on my line. It looks like the vac. feed is from the same source as the vac. for the headlights? Which would make sense.
Thanks
I have the T and yellowish connection. From your picture the feed for this line comes from a black connection (9oclock), is this a filter, check? Does the feed originate from the T'd connection on the back of the manifold that also serves the vac for the headlights?
Thanks
Yes. The main manifold vacuum line comes from that manifold fitting, then into the filter, then into the check valve. One line off the check valve goes into the dash area for headlight system, A/C system, wiper system and the other goes to feed the vacuum tank so the system can maintain a consistent vacuum level.
