Does anyone know if there are replaceable fuel lines on top of the gas tank on a '76 ? I took it to a local mechanic and he indicated there was nothing to replace.....
Apparently, the mechanic hasn't got a clue. There are several fairly long rubber gas lines that can be replaced. It's a bit of a pain because you have to siphon out the gas and drop the gas tank. If all goes well (it never does for me), you should be able to do it in an afternoon :seeya
Just put the cover over my tank.
On the top of the tank there´s your tank sending unit.
The sending unit has four outlets/inlets.
On the right side to a rubber hose going to aour steelline to the fuel pump and a second one heading from the fuelpump steel return lining back to your tank.
On the left one the two rubber lines are connected with a T for vapor purposes.
No question that the rubber lines are all changeable.....
If you´r in there pull your rubber off from the top of the sending unit and check it thoroughly. I had to replace mine because it had little rust holes!
