Gas mileage!!??
Today on the highway I was averaging 17 mpg in my 77 L48. I was really happy to see this with such a poor begining setup.
My car is mostly stock except the pocket ported heads and edelbrock intake.
What about anyone else???

going closed loop injection will get you 20-21 without o/drive....
o/drive will get you another 4-5 mpg.....
17 is a very good figger....very good, so good in fact I would double check the calculatiions....make sure the speedo is correct otherwise the miles reading will be off by a similar amount....
now that injection mentioned above is put on your stock engine...

When people ask me, "how is it on gas" I tell them,
"It likes it".
Never figured out the mileage, when the guage says it needs gas it gets gas.
But if I had to guess I would say not very good compared to my wifes 98 Avenger (slow), or my 95 Ram pickup.

Before my distributor f**ked up it was 18-22 on the highway. Now the distributor has a Lars rebuild and I'm working on an experimental intake manifold:)Theoretically it will get better.
