I have a 76, 350 with a carter afb carb. that didn't come with an air cleaner assembly. I found a used one that is dual snorkle from a 77, 350. The base for both are 5" dia. Does anyone know if this will fit?
Thanks
My 76 came with a Q-jet and single snorkel.I don't think they came stock with a carter.I know there was no double snorkel for for the 76 l-48 or l-82.Don't know about your combination.

First, you should consider putting that Carter AFB in a museum and installing a modern carb on the car... A Q-Jet, Holley or BG would be better than an old AFB.
Second, depending on which AFB you have and how old it is, some AFB carbs used a smaller air cleaner horn diameter than the Q-Jet and Holley "standard" size. If you have one of these AFBs, you won't be able to use a stock air cleaner for your year car.
I guess I know why the car didn't come with an air cleaner. Basically, the car ran well before I put it on blocks to fix the brakes, PS pump and a bunch of little stuff (which of course has turned into a major project). I was hoping to see if I could pass smog with the Carter and was hoping I could get an air cleaner assembly that would transfere over to a Holly when I need to change the carb.
The Carter has a 5" dia and I can get an air assem. that is also 5" dia; do you know if this is a standard?
thanks
