I broke the hood release on the vette this summer and have had a wooden handel up through the side vent thingy to realese the hood. Pain in the but to take of the vent off and reach up everytime I need to open the hood.
But anyway I just received the new handle and wire piece today but was wondering how to connect the wire to the release mechanism. Do you just run it through from the inside and bend over the wire to secure it?

You'll need a cable crimp stopper or a barrel type with a set screw. Does the old cable not have one?
Durango, I never found the old end of the cable. But I guess I could find something at the auto parts store. You said something like a cable stop?
Yeah just anything that either crimps the cable end or preferably one with a set screw that will clamp to the end of the cable to keep it tight against the hood latch.
a brake cable stop from a bike will work fine. please let us know if the handle retracts back as it should. i have all new cables/handle and im having a heck of a time trying to come up with a solution to get mine to spring back like it should. i have ideas on making a new solution but just havnt had time ot test yet.
