Does anyone have a picture of where the pinion snubber is located? Also is this possible to replace it with just jacking up the car? Thanks

I don't have a picture, but it is located at the differential housing, on a forward facing bracket just under the u-joint that connects the drive shaft to the pinion yolk.

Yes, you can change it by jacking up the car and crawling under.

you can actually change it by just crawling under the car. no jack required but you need a prybar to move the pinion mount so i suggest jacking it. (dont ask how i knew that) but you can then wiggle (a lot of finaggleing) the bolt out and the rest of the parts. a tech tip of mine is to put the bolt in upside down so that its fool proof to remove again if you have too.

also the rubber snubber will fit into a recess in the top that takes a little bit of coaxing left right back forth to fit flush. good luck!

You must be one skinny dude! Good for you, makes working on the car a lot easier. I don't think I can get my head under the car let alone the rest of me without jacking it up.

My head won't fit under the frame rail on mine, must be because the Vette is too low, I can't think of any other reason my head wouldn't fit

yeah im tall so i was able to extend my arms up and in. i was a bit afraid to jack the car back then. so i decided Thats enough of that and jacked her up. that was my first "major" project i did on the car after i got it. i thought it was the biggest deal in the world and a major sense of accomplishment but now i know how easy it is im moving on the bigger and better things! BODY MOUNTS!!

I just installed a new one on my '69. Clunking issue is gone, but I couldn't get the bolt / nut to torque down. It just seemed to keep tightening instead of stopping. Any ideas why that would be?

IIRC there is a metal sleeve that goes into the cushions. That should stop the cushions from compressing at some point. Perhaps the sleeve is missing?

I agree. You must be missing the black metal sleeve shown on the left.

its a big fat thick metal sleeve too so if it is missing you should know it. I think i used my original one from my car when i replaced mine with eurethane this year. and yes the "clunk" is gone as well as a better stiffer feeling back there too.
