Default Tire Size and Brand

Now that I'm finished with the oil leak I have another problem. The tires on my 1972 corvette are the wrong size. The tire shop here says I can run a 225/70-R15. What size and brand would you recommend.
I know that the original F70-15 was 26.9 in. in diameter and I want to run a little taller tire if I can. My car is a 4-speed with 3.36 gears.
Thanks

I have run 225/70 and 245/60 tires on my Vettes, with no issues. I understand that 255/50 will fit too.

I have 225/75/15 on the front and 235/75/15 on the back. The 235's will rub the frame in a full turn if they are on the front.
