Default Cyl. Head Code

I have a pair of small block GM heads that I have had for years and I'd like to know what they are.

In the casting there is a number 3917291 and under that there is a number 1217. Another casting has GM with the number 18 under that.

Thanks,

There were three different versions of that head with 2 different valve sizes and a temp port or not used on a few different vehicles.

It was one of the heads used for the Z28 302 if the valves are 202
the 194 valve heads were used on the 68 ss350 engines.

Ones with the water sender port are for '68 and without used in '67

I have a set of '67 302 heads with casting #462, the other ones used.

All right I'll have to check which one of the 3 I have. I'm thinking they are 202 valves.
I bought these heads over 30 years ago for a Camaro that I was building and ending up selling the project undone.
I'm trying to figure out what I have and what they are worth.

Thanks for all the replies.

The humper heads are pretty common these days because they are not desireable for performance anymore. They were hot in the 70's. Normally go for around 200 bucks or less unfinnished, but have seen them sell for 100 too.
Only desireable for a restoration and need correct cast # and date code for that.
If they are right for a 302 z engine then they could be worth a little more, but the market is pretty small.
Mine are correct for a 67 302, but I still have them.

Thanks for the info. I just wanted to make sure that I didn't have something for a rare car. I figured that these were pretty much 'old school' stuff and would only be worth something if they were needed for a restoration, numbers matching car.
