Default coild spring ID

My car looks a little low in the front end, it came with some parts in boxes including a new set of coil springs for the front end. How can I tell what these springs are without a spring testing machine? The stock springs were 293 lb/in and the f-41 was 550 lb/in, so I would think the free length of the f-41 would be noticeably less, but I can't find these numbers anywhere. Is the wire diameter different? Does anyone have the free length and wire diameter number for the 239 and 550 lb/in springs? Thanks.

Good question!

A little more information will yield results, I'm sure.

What year?
Small block or big block?

I'd like to know the diameter of the coil material myself for future reference.

Most aftermarket springs are eithere 460's or 550's.

460# Springs are 13" in free length and are considered small block springs.

550# Springs are 12" in free length and are considered BB Springs.

Hope this helps.
