I have been looking for aerosol spray paints that emulate factory finishes. Items to be painted include seat tracks, hood latches, and underbody heat shields for a '69 coupe, Trying to be correct for judging, and these parts apparently had a greyish phosphate finish. Would appreciate any suggestions on brands/colors to use and sources of these paints.
Hi H69,
I don't know just how authentic you're trying to be.
You can do both of the colors (gray and almost black) of phosphate (called parkerizing) at home with the supplies that Palmetto Enterprises sells.
I used it on the latches and parts that you mention and also other parts including bolts and nuts.
