Default Wiper delay 1980

When I first got this car I noticed when the wiper was turned on, there was a popping noise. It was coming from the jack compartment behind the passenger seat. This turns out to be some kind of module controller for the delay on the wipers. The only one I found at the time was out of a salvage yard. When I installed it the popping stopped, but the delay still doesn't work. I replaced the wiper switch when installing a new dash. I still only have low and high, and the washer fluid works, but no delay. Eventually I found a bypass switch and put it in because the part I need was discontinued. I think the plug that goes to this module thing has 9 wires going into it. Does anyone know where I can purchase a module, or controller, or whatever this part is? Thank you, T.R.

Yes this part controls the wiper pulse. Damn near impossible to find but there is a member here on the forum that rebuilds them. Do a search and he will come up.

The wiper motor on the 80-82 has a pink wire that is connected to the outside cover. As the motor rotates it makes contact with the pick wire.
unfortunatly as the motor wears the pin misses the pink wire as it goes by. You can fix the pin with a thicker one, or get a new wiper motor.

The wiper motor works fine. The part I am talking about controls the delay so you can set the wipers other than high and low.

Sorry, I did not give enouph information.
The pink wire is the delay part of the wipers. As the motor rotates it hits the pink wire and grounds the circut. The delay is set by the black box in the rear compartment.
without the pink wire being grounded the timer will not start for the delay function.
try grounding the pick wire on the wiper motor and see if the delay works. take about 2 seconds.
