On my '70....It is behind the license plate.. I can't find it in the AIM? I think there are 2 of them and one is missing on my car?

I should know this because I just put a tank in a 70 a couple weeks ago.The bracket looks familiar just not in that location.

all it does is just hang there, nothing to connect it to? It does have a slide connection to whatever it connects to for adjustment.....

Default What is it?

Hey, Guy!
I think that part might be from the spare tire carrier.
It looks like the assembly that held the lock......
Just a guess... I hope I'm right and it solves your problem

Hi
That bracket should be bent back to the rear valance panel behind the license plate where you have the rusted nut below the license plate mounting nuts. The bracket should have a nut attached to it instead of the rusted ones. There should be one on each side.

Look in section 7 rearend and deck. They're there but a diff shape.

edit-I think in that shape they look the brackets under the frt floorboards that hold the heat shields.

That is the rear filler panel bracket (yes, should be 2 of them)
It has been bent way out-of-shape ...
See Corvette Central item #203111

in my 1968 AIM, it's located under UPC1, F21 ... your '70 AIM should be right around there I suspect ..

It looks like someone just bent them towards the front of the car.
