Default Brake junction block: Differences?

Can anybody tell me if there are differences in the brake junction block over the C3 run? I'm building a custom setup (C4 suspension w/Wilwood calipers and C5 master cylinder), and just curious if there is anything to gain/lose with something other than the present '69 part.

Thanks for any useful information,
Mike

There is a good chance that, with the new setup, you will need an actual Proportioning valve - which the original part is NOT - it's only a differential switch.

Yes, there are differences in the C3 run. I can't tell you exactly what they are but the brake core guys can. Early blocks bring big bucks as cores. Sounds like you need an actual valve or just a block from a C5. C3s have same volume calipers front and rear, I'd think you would use the block to match the calipers and/or master cylinder that you use

This incorrect, the rears have smaller pistons than the front calipers.
This effectively creates a proportioning effect which is why C3's have a distribution block and not a proportioning valve.
The distribution block could be left out but you would not get the warning light switch.

A proportioning valve was added in about 74 or 75 to better balance the brake system.

Stainless steel brake corporation is offering an aluminum master cylinder with adjustable outlets for the front and rear wheels....allows you to adjust the brake pressure for the front seperate from the rear.
They also have the more conventional inline pressure adjusting devices.

In-Line Tube sells repro early C3 distribution blocks and later C3 proportioning valve blocks.
