On my '70, when I put the turn signals they go faster and faster until they look like just flickering. Bulbs are working properly, just way too fast. Hazzard blinkers work. Still a bit fast, but not as bad. So far I got all lights to work but the left front corner lamp and backup lights. Any idea what can be causing this and how to deal with it?

Back up lights
On an automatic transmission the back up lights work thru the neutral safty switch in the console, pink wire brings power into the switch and the green wire brings power to the lights.
On stick shift the back up light switch is on the transmission, could be the linkage rod fell off.
Pete.
Yep --- you need a new flasher for the turn signals. There is a separate flasher for the hazard warning lights === might as well replace both while you're at it

I believe that the same unit will perform adequate function for both turn signals and hazard; not sure if the specs call for the same blinker unit or not (and I don't have my Owner's Manual at hand to check).
