Nothing, nothing at all...but why fork over $30.00 when the stock gear will last just as long?
had to use bronze centuries ago there was no other choice.
crane shows 8620 I'm sure this is on all there race rollers
then they list a 9310 grade steel I'm assuming this might be in there
street solid rollers and there hydraulic rollers.
Are you sure hydraulic rollers made out of steel an iron gear would work.

After talking to someone a little more knowledgeable at comp...
They say the cam is cast, and austempered and that no worry, just use the stock gear. He specifically warned against using the bronze gear as its designed to be sacrificial.

No I just ment can't see why someone would give comp that kind of money if GMs melonized is known to work. Money is just to hard to come by with that kind of difference in price.
It looks like you are right the cast iron gear will work. with no money spent even better.
