Ok I have a 73 project car comming. I had an 86 vette that i was planning to drop a 383 with the TPIS mini ram in it but unfortunetly my 86 was in a accident and was totaled. So I have the block, manifold and heads for the build up. Now that I have anouther vette How hard is it to just keep going with the miniram setup? I'm guessing I would need a ECU for it or would I? Or should I just keep the carb setup? I have an extra holley 750 double pumper I was going to swap on it. If I can crank out 450hp I would be very happy with it regardless of setup.
A carb on a 383 will get you that kind of power fairly easily.
Getting a computer tuned right for a custom design and that kind of power might cost quite a bit in programming and updating and such.
Start out with a carb, break it in, beat the hell out of it, and then when the budget and the mood strike you you can start planning the Mini Ram setup.
