On a cold start, i pump the gas, takes a few tries then bam it starts. Doesn't take me no longer than 1-2 minutes to start.
heres the problem...
After i park my car from using it, for example parking at the grocery store. When i come back it takes me maybe 20 minutes to try and get her to start. Its weird it takes longer to start when its not from a cold start.

How does the car perform - hesitation, takes the gas well, etc.? It could be a partially blocked fuel flter as the problem "sounds like" fuel. There is a bronze filter in the carb at the fuel inlet - change this and the fuel filter and see if it improves.
When driving the gas pedal is sporadic, sometimes when I step on the gas the car feels like its about to stall or die out, so I have to push on the gas a little bit harder and thats when it really kicks in and gives me a hard thrust of speed.
Other time when I step on the gas its normal acceleration, car doesn't feel like its dieing down, it has good throttle response.
Its comparable to my 07 Mustang v6. It has throttle lag, if I step on the gas it takes a few seconds for it to actually kick in.
I would change out the two gas filters. Sounds like sporatic fuel starvation. Could be a bad fuel pump, but normally they are good or bad. Clogged fuel filters will kill the fuel pump over time!
Choke is a good place to start (assuming it's hooked up). I don't know much about 88s, do you have a fuel filter that's clear? If so a simple check would be to observe it's fill level when cold and then when warm.
Again not knowing much about fuel injection I had a carburetor setup that would start fine when cold because fuel pressure had bled off. When still warm fuel pressure was still too high and caused a flooding situation. Not sure if that's a concern or not with fi, probably not...
Timing is the point at which the spark is sent from the distributor to fire the particular cylindar relative to top dead center (TDC). If you have 12degress adv. initial timing that means your distributor is firing #1 cylinder 12deg before TDC (no other timing modifiers considered). This is also known as static timing.
Timing involves huge discussions and write ups so just do a search and you'll find everything you need on both timing and choke settings/methodology.
yeah thats what my dad said... that the carburetor is being flooded because of too much fuel.. cuz usually id give it a couple of pumps of gas to start up...
Your problem is the choke. It shouldn't take 1 - 2 minutes to start when its cold and certainly not 20 minutes when the engine is somewhat warm. When the engine is cold and not running, floor the gas pedal twice and see if the choke flap closes completely. Take off the top of the air cleaner to check. If not, see why not. After that is corrected, the rate at which it opens, which is adjustable, determines how well it starts when the engine is warm, like at the grocery store.
