As far as I know, this info is correct. It seems as if they sent me an email telling me something had changed so you might do a google and see.
To request a copy of the original GM invoice for you 1977 and newer car, you can contact a company called Allied Vaughn. The will charge you a fee to do this, but it is well worth the money! * * * * *

The phone number is 734-421-0273, Fax 734-261-5216 or you can email them direct at vehicleinvoice@gmmediaarchive.com. This company is in no way affiliated with Willcox Inc. and is an outside source for great information about your car..
for a 1970, all those sites will tell you is what type of engine you have, year it was built, sequence number and thats about it. It can't give you options based off the VIN
Post your VIN up here or PM me with it and I'll do the breakdown.
There is an outside chance that someone before you had a replica of the window sticker produced by these people for your VIN. Maybe you could call them and ask if they have info on your VIN from their records.
Nope. There is no source for information about your '70 other than original documentation with the car or previous owners.
The car itself will provide certain information. VIN; time/build date; original colors. You will find two numbers stamped on the pad on the block at the front of the right head. Those numbers will identify the engine and the vehicle the engine was originally installed in. Hopefully, those numbers match the VIN of your '70.
A copy of the build sheet was originally glued to the top of the fuel tank on your car, but that may or may not be there any more, or could be illegible.
Hi CB,
You can sometimes get a peak at the tank sheet, to see if it's there, by looking through the gas filler lid and pushing the rubber collar aside.
Hopefully it's there and readable.
Here's the sheet from my 71.
Happy New Year!
Regards,
Alan
