Anyone running one? Is it worth it, or am I being paranoid?

I do like having both my feet.

Application is supercharged 383 in a 1976

If you are running a SFI plate and not zing the engine above 7000 RPM you should be ok. I had one come apart on me because someone (me) did not pay attention to the fact the index pin was missing from the new crank and it did very little damage. This was on a 63 Nova that has a substantial metal trans tunnel.

I used to drag race my Vette so I used all the SFI stuff. this is the only thing that i could get to fit with my 700R4. It should work on TH400's and 350s

I finally got smart and went to a 5 speed with a blow proof bell housing.

Yes, I guess I left out a couple bits of important information.

The plate will be SFI. I plan on shifting at 6000 w/ the rev limiter set at 6500.

I would run on if i were you,and if you go to the drags and are running certain times you will have to install one anyway.Like you said you like both your feet-i kinda feel its more about putting slicks on and launching the car were you would have a poss problem, but then again shifting at 6000-6500 usually means shifting at 7000plus after awhile.
