Default locktite or anitseize

I am in the process of rebuilding the front suspension on my 75 coupe and wanted to know whether I should use locktite or antiseize on the suspension bolts. I read one thread where someone suggested using locktite on the bolts if using poly bushings but I am going with rubber. I don't want to worry about things coming loose down the road but also don't want any troubles when getting the front end aligned. Thanks for your help and insight.

v/r,
Tim

I use anti-seize on everything. Everything should have a lock washer or castle nut on it. Double nut anything you can. I have a bunch of anti-vibration washers also (double washers, serrated on each side)

I'd recommend loctite on the A-arm crossbar bolts. Those have been know to work themselves loose and fall out. I can't think of any other suspension bolts offhand that don't have either castle nuts/cotter pins or the special locking nuts (I forget the correct name).

Are you talking about the bolts that go through the bushings or the bolts that go through the frame?

Definatly not the ones to the frame. The alignment shop needs to use those. I use antiseize on all of it.

When I stripped my front end, one A-arm cross shaft bolt was missing and 2 others were quite loose so I used "red" Loctite on them, torqued them to spec and then painted creep marks on the bolt head and A-arm. I torqued everything to spec though.

I agree. I have poly everywhere and just check every once in a while to make sure everything is tight. No issues!
