Default Hot wiring the ignition (car stranded)

Is there anyone here with a dark 'past' maybe who can show me how I can hot wire the ignition to get it to start? No, I don't want to steal a car.

My '82 is stranded at a friend's driveway with the ignition stuck in position 2. The switch turns to position 3 but will not crank the engine. The key release lever is stuck too but the worn key slides out. After reading through the forums, looks like the ignition barrel is messed up and I may need to do some work to pull and replace it.
I would like to drive the car home asap to be able to tinker with.

I would greatly appreciate any help or advice.

I assume you have the computer.

Try the splicing battery power to the pink wire at the distributer. It is where 2 wires plug in.
Then with a small screwdriver jump the battery term on starter to the s term on solenoid (where purple wire connects.

Make sure your steering wheel and tranny isn't locked out, you may have to adjust that by hand at the firewall.

If that doesn't work, drop the column enough to remove the real igniton switch and let it hang. You can use a screwdriver to slide the positions.

Drove one for 6 months like that.

but if the key position you are in has the dash lights on then the dist has power and you might only need to jumper the solenoid.

Two best options I can offer:

Disconnect battery and

1.) have car towed home.; or

2.) fix ignition at your friends place.
