I'm stripping everything off of my seats for the uphoulsterer to repair them and can't figure out how to remove the headrests. Looking at the AIM, it looks like you just remove the escutcheon plate and they can be removed but when I try to pull them out, they are held by a stop or something internal to the seatback. I know this seems like a dumb question but I'm stumped! Thanks in advance for any replies!
I would just **** mine left or right and pull up. They come right out. Try wiggling them as you pull up. Again left to right, not front to back. Be careful, the vinyl is old and may crack easily.
You do not need to remove the escutcheon plate first.
They do pop out by just cocking them right or left and pulling. I never figured out which, just twisted and pulled. They snap back in when you push them back in place. I haven't had the seats apart, but assume there's some sort of catch inside.
