Default NCRS 78 Pace Car ?

I'm looking into purchasing a 78 pacecar that was being advertised with the NCRS Chevrolet Bowtie Award and the McLellan Mark of Excellence Award. When I asked the seller to fax or email me a copy of these awards he told me that the prior owner wouldn't give him the awards. Is there a way to get a copy of these awards from NCRS using the vin number or will the car have to be inspected all over again?

Thanks,

Joe

Tell him you just want pictures of them to confirm. Any seller not wanting to send/give documentation specific to that car when the car is sold is an asswipe

Hi Joe,
You can go to the NCRS Site and find the 'Award Confirmation Document Service' section under JUDGING AWARDS. You'll be able to find out the truth then!

Be aware that there's no guarantee that the car is in the same condition today as it was when it received the awards. All Corvettes were Bowtie and Mark of Excellence quality at one time or another.

And it would not have been a bad idea for the owner who earned the awards to include this "certification" document with the sales of the car in the event he elects to keep the hardware.

What you want to know is the date of the awards and mileage and compare to the current mileage and date.

Wonder why the PO wouldn't keep the NCRS docs with the car. Afterall, the award is for the car not the owner. For sure confirm that the car actually received the awards (and when) before you buy.
