Hey BuddyM,
Dont know if your aware of this but the shoulder belt were optional on 70 convertibles and standard on the coupes. More then likely the screw holes were instaled on all the cars whether they had shoulder belts or not. If your seats do not have the slots or hardware on either of the seats then I would bet they were never added to the car. Am I understanding that you dont have the rear plastic harness guards on the rear compartment? I was going to say that the guards for the shoulder belt has the square slot area cut out and the guards with out shoulder belts are solid. Most vendors carry the guards to.
I'm about to restore a 68 convertible. By most I want to keep the car original. At least for the appearence.
The car is original fitted with lap belts, but my intention was to mount shoulder harness. The seats are original without headrest.
Does this mean that I can't install shoulder harness in my 68 with original seats?
There are some original NOS shoulder belts complete for $99 each on ebay. They only have black and come in the GM box. I sent the seller a message to check on other colors and he states they are nos. Seemed like a good price to me based on what they get for rebuilding them.

I think some people use the last Gen Camaro belts in C3's. Probably wouldn't affect the look of your car much if you're only concern with originality is overall appearance. Do a search on the topic.
