Default 68 front air dam/deflector

I bought a front air dam or deflector from Ecklers for my 68. I think it is not wide enough. They claim it is not a 68 only part. When I center it on the car, the corners turn up way before they do on the car. Am I missing something or are they in error and I need a 68 only part. Maybe my car somehow got too wide. But we would be talking about 3-4 inches on each side.

Any insight would be appreciated.

Hi AW,
The reproduction and service replacement spoilers do not fit very well at all.
I ended up moving the mounting holes in the spoiler a little which allowed me to twist it into position a little better.
It's fit is still only fair and not as good as the original.
Regards,
Alan

Thanks Alan. I wouldn't mind that but the far outside shape comes no where near matching my car. It curves up way before the under side of the fender of the car starts turning up.

Hi AW,
You have described the exact problem.
I ended up 'twisting' the ends a little bit which helped a little and seemed to hide the fact that the curves were not in the same place on the body and the spoiler.
Regards,
Alan

PS: When I tried to install the new spoiler the first time I couldn't believe my eyes on the fit. But that wasn't my only problem. The new spoilers have some little 'nubbins' on the back side in a row and about 6" apart. This is a NCRS 'no-no'. I had a great time getting rid of those!

Just to confirm what Alan said.....I bought a new repop spoiler for my 72 and it did the same thing. So I am pretty sure it's not a "68 thing".
