adjusting hood
The main difficulty is that gravity it working against you with the hood open,
So I removed the male latches at the fire wall so I could close fully with out latching.
Then loosen the upper bolt on both hinges just enough for the hood to be movable. But keep the lower 2 bolts tight so the hood will not move.
Then lower the hood it will sit flush since the male latches are removed.
Now lay under the car and get a long 3/8 extension and a swivel joint.
Reach up and now loosen the two bolts that had been left tight.
The hood is now fully movable in the closed position. Use plastic wedges and tape or cloth to protect paint to get the gaps right.
One the gaps are where you want get back under the car and tighten the 2 bolts back.
Raise hood and tighten the other 2.
Its been a while , I may have which 2 bolts can be seen and got to from the underside reversed. Just look 1st with a good light.
Good Luck

You can buy a set of shims and loosen the hinge bolts where they bolt to the body of the car not the hood bolts. Slip a shim in on both sides and see if that is enough to fix the look.

David's reply is very good.
Since you say the side gaps and alignment are good, is the hood high all the way across the front or is it highest in the center?
If the hood is high and there are shims in place, dropping it is pretty easy, but if it's high and there are no shims on the hinges I think the fix is a little more involved.
