Anyone running a smart struts/ performance camber rod kit on your car? I see a kit from Eckler's in their catalog...its supposed to improve traction while cornering and tire wear/maintain alignment settings etc. can anyone give me any feedback on it? or one similar?
I got a set of the HD struts from The Last Detail- cheaper than anyone else I looked at. I just went back with all the original brackets- the struts, with the heim joint ends made alignment way easy. No fooling around with eccentrics. Bolt them in, adjust them by cranking on the sleeve, lock them down and done.
I think the smart strut kit moves the inboard mount location lower, which would give them a better angle to keep the tires flat during hard cornering. (That may be incorrect- so verify)

yes correct.
I'm going to get it too for my L88R - and anti bump steer kit too at front wheels.
the smart struts seems to be one of the best and easiest to do improvement on rear suspensions
I've had the Vette brakes Smart struts for 20 years. They can be set for zero camber gain during vertical wheel travel.
I set mine up at the shop with a digital camber level on the outside of the wheel. I disconnected the rear spring ends and then lift the rear wheels with a jack while watching the level . you set the inner rod positioning to get zero change to a beginning .5 ish degrees neg camber.
It is the same idea for front bump steer. only you are also looking for zero "Toe" change as the front wheel goes up and down.
