Default '73 headlights problems

I have a '73 Vette L-48 Auto, A/C and having problems getting the headlites to work at all. Have 15 psi of vacuum going into vacuum tank (plugging wiper connection). I tried each lite hooking up vacuum line directly to cannister and they go down when up. But if I connect eveything normally and turn lites on, do not work at all. PLease any help it'd be appreciated.

Thanks

Here are a couple of threads that deal with the headlight vacuum system...
http://forums.corvetteforum.com/c3-t...y-problem.html
http://forums.corvetteforum.com/c3-t...down-fine.html

It's really a pretty simple system if you break it down into the separate parts/functions and test each separately. You can do a search on headlights and there are pages of threads on the headlights, how they work and how to troubleshoot them.

Keep us informed of how your trouble shooting goes and ask as many questions as you need, there's lots of info available here on the Forum and folks willing to help.

Good luck... GUSTO

Get a GM shop manual for your car and just go component to component checking. It's a simple system once you understand it.

Default 1973 Corvette Heater A/C, Wiper,, Missing Ground

I have a new problem with my Vete. I've got it from a friend of mine. I removed the engine for rebuilding and (not sure if it was me that caused the problem or maybe was there already since the console cluster had no screws at all) and after connecting everything back together, the wipers do not work unless a ground the wiper case, the blower motor will not turn on unless a ground the mounting rivets on the connector by the blower case in engine compartment. I've been all over looking for a missing ground (strap) and am still lost..

Please HEEEEELLLLLPPP!! Weather is getting nicer and am going nuts..(LOL)
Thanks
