[Cardinal Error!] Heater Core replacement

[Cardinal Error!] Heater Core replacement
made a cardinal error / sin....didnt check here first.

Oh well -- got to practice pulling the dash again.
I had gotten it to the point to start tugging on the heater box, and I didnt like the way it felt, decided to come search here. Sure enough -- with a non-AC car, I ddnt even need to mess with the interior. Crap!
Anywho - motor cover came off simple to the engine bay. Two questions:
(1) how in the world to you remove the snap clip holding the core in?
(2) I didnt order the gasket between the two pipes (inlet / outlet) and there wasnt one before.
Did anyone have luck getting those at local napa / autozone, or is that special order only?
So - lesson is -- always check here first for quick lessons before tackling jobs.
