Default headlight frame ?

Hi,

OK, here's my question. Does anyone know what the headlight frames( brackets) are made of? Is it pop-metal? or? And can this be welded?

The bracket on my 79's passenger side headlight bucket is broken and I would like to weld it back together if possible. It's a clean break and should go back together nicely.

Thanks,
Lee

Its pot metal. It is difficult to weld pot metal, but it can be done. I have better luck making sheet metal plates to brace the bracket and screw through the bracket to hold them together. While not an invisible repair, it works fine.
