I have a 72 coupe and need to adjust the way the headlite assembly closes as the cover rubs the surrounding area as it comes down and closes. Can someone help out on this adjustment ?
With the headlights open you should be able to lay under the car and look up at the headlight assy.and I'm pretty sure that there are three bolts that hold the assy in the car and they are sloted you can loosen the bolts and move the assy.I hope this helps
There is also some adjustment where the 2 bearings that the headlight door pivots in bolt to the headlight frame. There are 3 bolts on each pivot and there's a little room to move the actual pivot point around.
There are a surprising amount of parts that make up the headlights so having an AIM for your car is quite a big help.
Regards,
Alan
Like Alan said there are many parts in the headlight frame. I had same problem on my 76.
There are 3 bolts on each pivot, inside & outside. There are also 2 bolts in the front. I had to back off all 8 and adjust (many times) to get it correct. If you take one of the front bolts off believe me it is not easy to reinstall. You may want to consider removing the wheel.
Good luck
