69 Corvette fuel
Most of this has to do with your CR! You also have other variables such as the cam and the timing of the engine.
I would need more to give you a good answer.
If you have a straight 350/300 has a 10.25 CR unless components such as the pistons or heads were changed or altered.
If it is the stock engine I described most would say 94 with a lead substitute. I ran my 400 SB with 10 CR on 94 with no dieseling at all and no detonation problems.
Another trick is to devise a water mist system and an old track trick is to run your fuel threw a coffee can with the line coiled inside it with ice.
If you want to build an engine to run fine un pump gas. Go no high then 10 to 1. I am a auto machinist and will tell you 9.6 to 1 will give you the least problems. Just remember the cam separation and duration along with the timing are factors to consider as well
be good
