Depends on what you mean by running gear. If you are talking just the engine and or suspension, yes. If you are talking about the entire drivetrain including the turque tube, tranny, and rear differential the answer is sort of yes but I don't think you would like it.
Do use the entire C6 underpinnings under a C3 body requires a lot of modification. I know that SRIII Motorsports was working on dropping a C3 body on top of a complete C5 chassis and drivetrain so you might want to talk to Mike StockDale at www.sriiimotorports.com.
You can buy any number of aftermarket chassis that will accept C5/6 front suspension and C4 rear suspension and drop any LS motor and Auto or 6speed into it with much less difficulty/cost and incredible results.
I use an SRIII chassis with a supercharged LS6 and Camaro T56 Speed. Late model running gear but the beauty of a C3.
