I don't know directly but typically aluminum components are 2/3's to half the weight of an equivalent steel part.

Don't know what your driveshaft weighs, but my stock shaft on my '69 weighs 9 1/2 pounds with both u-joints installed (subject to scale accuracy).

What diameter did you get? If you upgraded to a 3" diameter shaft, make sure you have plenty of room between it and the body.

I had one in my car for several years and everything was good. However, when I switched from poly body mounts back to factory rubber mounts to reduce squeeks and rattles the body would shift over enough under hard cornering on road courses to hit the shaft. It ended up with 3 really nice rings machined into the shaft. I'm back to using a steel 2.5" drive shaft now ... that was a bummer.

So just a word of caution, check clearances and make sure there is at least 1/4" all the way around ... and maybe consider poly body mounts too if you drive your car hard. I think I only had 1/8" clearance at the problem locations.

Thanks Jason Staley, Keisler said they only do a 3" ali prop, so i'll stick with the steel one.
