Default Door To Door Front End

I am about to entirely rebuild the front part of the car (1971) from the windshield to the front bumber. I plan on buying a complete door-to-door front end, but I wonder what product to buy and where from.

I would welcome any advice on my option and about these 2 products from Eckler's (URL's below). What does justify the price difference ?

Jig-Fit Front End, Press Molded, Door To Door

Hi A,
The expensive clip is made the way the factory clip was, from various pieces joined by bonding strips.
The lower priced clip is one large molded piece.
If you want to keep your 71 as original as possible the expensive clip helps to do that. For many people installing the one piece clip lowers the value of the car.
Is your existing fiberglass so bad that it can't be saved?
Regards,
Alan

two things to consider, the one piece fronts are HUGE. be sure you will have the room to set it aside while you are fitting it. also, because of the size(not weight-they only weigh about 50 pounds) two people are needed to place and remove it. and you will be putting it on and taking it off many times before it's ready to bond. i've done a eckler's one piece and it fits and looks good. i just finished doing a piece by piece build up with the individual parts. it was easier than the one piece because there's fewer things to adjust on each individual piece than the whole front end.

Well, it's entirely crashed, as a matter of fact. Got to redo it all.

No skirts on the one piece. You will have to buy and install them.

Yes, if you add all the stuff that is not included with the cheaper one (inner skirts, header bar, nose bar) it is still $1900 cheaper.
I believe the finish is not the same at all.

Hi A,
The one piece front clip is cheaper for many reasons.
It changes the value of the car until someone decides to put the proper pieces back on.
What is the goal for this car while you own it? That should help you decide where to put the money.

Alan
