I am about to start preping my 78 for paint, I have stress cracks on the fenders where the bonding strips are- can these be repaired using Duramix adhesives or do I need to used 'glass and resin.
duramix is for SMC you have epoxy panels just V bevel the joints and get some fiberglue from central fill them and be done with it . I helped
develope the product and it works . I have a car in shop with repairs done in 91 still no signs of repair.
I'd grind out an area larger than the crack, and fill it with the proper resin (since no one can agree what the hell it is) and some glass matt, or heavy weave fiberglass cloth. I've only repaired composites on mach 3+ military aircraft for 33 years. Corvettes aren't quite that fast.
