As for cams...I stick with Comp, I've ran Comp XE-R lobes on my LS1 Trans Am for 80,000+ miles...no problems.
comparing the reliability of their hydraulic roller cams to their flat tappets is apples to oranges. do a search on comp cams flat tappet....it's not uncommon for these things to wipe a lobe/.
Well, finally got back to working on the engine again. Installed the crank and pistons this weekend. Next is the cam. Here's some pics (I'll post more as I go)

I was going to install the cam as well, but there was no cam lube it the box.
