Default Fuel Return Line Plumbing

Could someone give me a brief primer on how to set-up the fuel return line system. Is the return line hooked directly to the fuel pump?
Any info or a source for info is appreciated.

Hi Willem,
I just posted 2 return line pictures in another thread. The pictures are of a 71. The return line is the smaller diameter line running on the inside of the supply line and attached by a hose with 2 clamps to a nipple on the upper side of the tank.
Regards,
Alan

Default Return Line Plumbing

Thanks Alan, I should have been clearer. I need to know how the return line is plumbed at the engine. Is there a connection for it on the fuel pump?

Depends on your enginge. Most 69 models (BB and SB) are using a fuel filter which provides the return line connection. Later models have a different fuel pump (a larger one) which provides the return line connection.

Hi Willem,
Here's 2 pictures of the 2 situations GP described.
The first is the fuel filter with the small return line coming off the top. The second is of the fuel pump with three fittings on the canister. The largest fitting is for the supply to the carb, the large nipple is for the supply from the tank, and the smaller nipple (it's almost hidden behind the large nipple) is for the return line.
I hope this helps you some.
Regards,
Alan
