Self exciting regulator for alternator

Anyone know the part number for the self exciting regulator? I have a 100amp SI type alternator and trying to explain it to parts store has been a nightmare. My one wire alt is putting out 16.7 volts I need a new regulator quick before I mess something up.

The parts to make it a 1 wire is in the alternator. All you need is to replace the regulator in the alternator...

Thats what I need. I already have a one wire alternator and the regulator is bad. They have a self exciting regulator in them. I need the part number on the regulator so I can get a new one.

I looked it up and it looks like this is the stock replacement.

All you need is a stock regulator. A one wire is accomplished by the plug that full fields the regulator thereby making it a one wire Alt...Overcharging indicates is a bad regulator . Something you allready know. To fix it, put a regulator in it.

I will try but I am reading about a special self exciting regulator other places. I will try a regular replacement regulator and see if it works.

The stock one did not work but I found what I needed. It has to be a self exciting regulator.
