What would you do with $2000???
I eventually want a high horsepower fuel injected daily driver - I've been told that a TPI setup and L82 build-up is cheaper and more productive than an LT1 swap.Concentrating solely on performance - if you had $2000 to spend what would you buy and why?
and can doyour own wiring/computer install, top end mechanicals, etc...
and maybe can change the tranny to an O/drive unit....
those are the main things to do to improve performance and fuel economy...
the injection alone is certainly worth the troubles, the o/drive is maybe not depending on amount/type of driving....

Well if my engine wasn't built for the performance I wanted it would all go there.
But for me since I just finished the rebuild. I would purchase an Edelbrock fuel injection system and have a hot rod with good manners.

what he said....except the RUM....(yuck)...actually I just redid my upper half of my engine...see my SIG for details and pictures.
I would use the $2000.00 for mid - 60s sidepipes and headers for my '77. :D

"Set sail with Captain Morgan, and never leave dry land..."
I would work on "refreshing" my rear suspension: Trailing arms, rear spring, shocks, u-joints, rear end.
Cruise with the "General" but sail with the "Captain". Morgan that is!!!
(I am a non-drinker so a sip would intoxicate me...errr...maybe not...i weigh in at 200 pounds of beef.... :yesnod: I workout too much to drink) :D
back to the original question.....if after you waited all looks good...
and you still want more performance out of the ENGINE...not the car...
do cam,heads,intake,exhaust...using all of the $2000....
if you want to launch out of hole and like the engine as is
then get gears and exhaust and a higher stall and have $1000 left over for maybe some heads or interior work....
if you want better gas mileage and better out of the hole !
then put in an overdrive tranny and better gears...for all of the $2000
if everything falls apart after a month of driving it....then get a loan,
cause the $2000 aint enough to fix it all !!!
