HEY, HOW DID YOU GET ONLINE? WILL YOU HAVE REGULAR INTERNET ACCESS? (oh, sorry for shouting, it just seems so far away). Pics remind me of a lunar landscape, but I dont suppose pics do it justice. Be safe! :) MJ

Good luck and keep your spirits up.

How long before we start seeing HUM-V Forum on the net?

Rick, I'll be glad to send some stuff, are there any rules or limitations? Can you recieve sealed food (like Candy)? Are there any regular magazines that we aren't allowed to send? The reason I ask is because I know that during desert storm a lot of stuff like that was prohibited.

I would be honored to send care packages for you and your comrads :flag Please feel free to write to me as well at

I'll start off by saying "Thank You" and repeating it ad infinitum. I can't wait to join the army once I'm out of high school. By the way, how did you end up w/the name of "Rakkasan"? I thought the 187th disbanded a while ago? Is this just homage to some of the greatest airborne soldiers, or was the PIR re-upped? :flag

.....I know you are busy, but please share with us all you can about your experiences in Afganistan. It would be so nice to hear things from a first party, rather than from the media and our own government.
I hope that all of you return healthy and safe, -and soon. We are looking after your Vette for you!

Thrills, same question!! Actually, i already have plans for putting a Zip catalog COVER around something else!! :)

This mailing address:

CW5 Rick Church
Task Force Rakkasan Airfield Commander
APO AE 09355

Will this tell the US postal service to send a package to Afghanistan?? or will that take it to a domestic military base first? My wife thought there was difficulty sending mail to military overseas after our domestic mail (anthrax) problems. I am thinking of using a signed, "prepared and packed by me" return address label if that might help reassure the senders... Anyway, some magazines coming.

(Superfast, realistically I would not send anything you want back!! :) )
