First of all Troy, thank you for the fantastic site. Only problem with it is that it sometime beats actually working on the cars.

GM has parts by number. If I could post the parts I want to sell or lookup the parts that others may have by part number a lot of that old NOS “junk” could be cleaned out of quite a few garages. It would make many wives very happy.

I hope that you are making some money for all you efforts.

George

Troy, thanks for the site.

I have one suggestion on how to improve the site/ make it more informative, and save all of those repeat questions. I suggest a parts review section, where users can write up reviews of their specific parts, such as: Intakes> Performer, Performer RPM, Victor Jr, Brodix high rise, etc etc... This way, prospective buyers have reviews written by people who actually use the products, and don't have to repeat "how well does xyz work", "should i get forged or hypereutectic pistons". Something similar, but on a huge scale can be seen on http://www.mtbr.com . I'm not aware of such a parts review anywhere. Thanks for your time, hope you like the idea.

Hi Jenny - thanks for the suggestions. We have one of them somewhat in effect already. Click on the tab at the top of the screen that says 'Reviews' and you'll see a section fo member submitted product reviews.

I think that I need to figure out a way to make that more noticeable. :)

Your forum is great, but the advertisers
are unreasonable. If this was a printed magazine, every page would have the name of every advertiser!
The computer is smart enough to know when i log on, but do the advertisers think i will buy more if i see their name on every page? The computer should make sure i see the ads every day, but on every page is rude and offensive.
Ad rates should be based on sales, or membership, not page views.
Again, your forum is great! But talk to the advertisers. Links on every page wast time, and take up space, and are way past the point of no return.

Troy, I don't know that this typical page loading poopieuation can be changed or not, as most all pages/sites have the fault...
that is, when going from say C3 main topic list to a thread, the entire page reloads, in spite of the top allmost 1/2 of the pages being identical, and the side column too...the whole thing reloads...
now when my cable modem was here early on, and not loaded down with users, I'd hardly noticed...but now a daze with loading, the cable slowed considerably, and so I quit them, what with price increases, and now I"m on dialup modem...and notice the above described faults....
I"m not sure it's curable though, as like I said most all sites have the same 'fault'....

Troy, I am curious as to your answer on this please email me....

The easy way to do this is to right click on the topic you want to view and then say "Open in New window". This opens the thread in a new window and when you close that window when your done the original window is still there.

Troy
I'm just glad we've got what we've got. I don't think corvette ownership would be half the fun without a place to share it with others. The Corvetteforum gives us this type of place and just enriches the experience. Thanks for all the hard work. It's appreciated.

I noticed in the poll and post section there are is a lot of support for not recreating the same topic wihin the last couple weeks. I kinda like publishing my own personel topics and checking the responces and valuable info from fellow CF members all-round the globe!! I really look forward to it !! Sure I can search the archives and so can everyone else on the Forum about prevous posts that apply to their Corvette. Actually, what question/topic hasn't been covered about these cars. My opinion on this is that if this poll is incorperated your kinda taking away some of the fun from the CorvetteForum.com Just my 2 Cents worth!! L8TER, Paul.

Not sure who added the 'not view signatures option' but we have that already. Go into your profile under user options.

I didn't know that that option had been added :D :jester

I would like to see a feature that prohibits people from posting their sigs more than once in a thread. Some people have VERY LARGE SIGNITURES and they will post multiple times in the same thread. Sometimes I think they are enamoured with the sig. They will just post things like :U  :yesnod: :hat :troll.

The ability to reduce pic sizes at our home pages without losing a lot of the quality would be really nice. Might allow people to have smaller sig pics also ;) .

For whoever added "no banner ads", they are what keeps this site free. If this site were a pay site it would not have nearly the membership and would not be close to as valuable as it is now. I consider this one of my most valuable tools it working on my car and it's entertains me at the same time. I have no problem dealing with banners for this. At least there are no popups.

Troy, this place is great! :D But since you asked.... I would REALLY REALLY like FTP access for the web page area. That interface for uploading can be tedious when there are a lot of files to upload at once. Plus the web area is case sensitive and the upload defaults everything to lower case so I'm forever redoing something. ;)

That and the improved search engine the FAQ ideas which were already mentioned would be great. Maybe the FAQ could take the form of a table of contents and some selected really good threads on the various subjects could just be linked to from the table of contents. That would save someone writing it up - it would just be a matter of finding & deciding which threads are worthy of a FAQ. Then moderators could easily add more to the table of contents when they see a good post or when folks recommend a particular post for adding to the FAQ.

Troy, another nice feature might be a forum for Desktop Dyno users to share info and tips with one-another ;)
