Default O-Ring vs. Lip Seals

I am wondering if someone could help me to be able to visually identify my caliper's seal type? I don't know what the two look like. I just bought a set off a guy on eBay that came from NAPA originally, and I have a set of SS sleeved cores that I am looking to rebuild as (possibly) spares. I need, however, to know how to identify weather the new and the old calipers are O-Ring or Lip Sealed. I know I risk sounding like a total newb, but I have to ask anyway. Thanks in advance, Kenny

NO way to tell as the diff is in the pistons and seals, so you have to take them apart to see....a O ring is obvious and if the pistons dont have them on them, it's a weird looking angle looking seal with sharp flange facing INWARD to the bore....narrow part to center of the caliper with both halves assembled....

the Oring is much preferred....sans the springs behind the lip seal variety....

If your sleeved calipers are lip seal I would call Vette Brakes and Products and order the kit to convert them to O ring. I doubt that what you have is the O ring design but the only way to tell is to take them apart.
Good Luck
