I think if you do a search you should find something in the archives. They have been discussed before. I'm also looking at one too.

I have one - obviously not cheap but I am 44 and figured what the heck, its now or never. Functionally the thing is great. Others here have had trouble working on the car with wheels off, but after some figuring, I got it set up o work fine. My car is on it right now with the entire rear supension removed, trailing arms just sent off to Bairs and the differential coming out this weekend.

Thanks

How did you use the jack bridge for the suspension?
Thanks,

I haven't used the jack bridge for jacking. What I do is use a small floor jack (you know one of those cheap ones), remove the wheels and place on a piece of plywood so as not to gouge the ramps. With a piece of wood between the saddle and the frame, I jack the car from the usual side points right off the ramps of the lift as if they were the floor. Rather than use jack stands, I have used a few hefty wood blocks under the frame and on the ramps and lower the car onto the blocks. Because the lift is high, I lift the car just high enough and use blocks thick enough so that I can just remove the wheels (about 11.5 inches). Then lower and you are set. Works like a charm - very stable ut it did take some trial and error to get it right. I would send a pic of it now if I could figure out how to post it.

Interesting, this gives you enough clearance to pull the suspension? Do you have the car on forward or backward, thinking about the cross bar being in the way? I keep the jack bridge bolted to the front because the ramps would shift without it. I have them on a concrete floor but didn't like the feel without the bridge in place.

gtr1999- yes I have the rear off and the car facing forward. I spent some time ,measuring and placed the car up forward enough (about 6 inches from the front legs) so that it is well in front of the rear crossbar. I also left the front bridge on when I drove on to the lift but the after the car is up and the lift is up, removed the bridge so it clear sailing. Like I said, I did a lot of measuring and placed the car just right. I will try to take a picture this weekend and post or e-mail it.

Gary,
How long have you had the lift? Is it worth th money?
I have limited space so my plan is to also park on it with Sue's 82 when its not in use. Do you think that the 82's front spoiler will clear the ramps.

I have had the lift since last April. I always park on it because I have limited space and share a "2-car" garage smack in the middle of San Francisco with my wife so it is tight. I think the midwestern Forum members would consider my garage a shed.
I could not do major repairs without it because if I pulled the wheels on the car, I couldn't move it (obviously) and couldn't get around it due to the size of the garage. I have the optional casters which allow me to put it up, work, and push it against the wall when done. For me it is worth it because garage space in my neighborhood rents for $300+ a month so the lift is cheap. To me it appears really well made and seems like it will last. I have an aftermarket spoiler on my car and it does not rub when I drive on. The incline is so long, I don't see any but the lowest cars hitting.

Bob,
Call me tomorrow and I'll go over it with you. I saw a used one(new) at the last Stafford Springs swap meet in Nov for $1,000. I bought mine from a forum member 1.5 years ago and from time to time have seen them used for between $700-1,000. The problem is shipping cost and pick up.

I'd like to see the picture. The one thing I don't like is it seemed difficult to do just what you did
Thanks,

R. Bruno......Can you get under the car from the sides? Or do you have to come in from the front or rear? I have been thinking about one for a while too.

69L46- You can slide in easily form the sides. Let me see if I can get some pictures this weekend. Probably a good times since I have it up and apart. I will try to find a way to post or get them on some sight where you can have a look.

Bruno is right, you can easily get in from the side, unless you look like william perry the fridge !!
I noticed on their website that they are having some kind of shipping special - only $100, if i remember correctly.
Several of my buddies from different states have them, they saidthe shipping part was a piece of cake.
I live here in oklahoma, so I just picked mine up at their shop.
either way, you will like it.
It has been great for us.
