Default Help with wire identification

I found this in the rear compartment, driver's side, while applying some sound insulation. By the looks of them, I don't see how they could have been operational before I started this project but does anyone know what they go to?

-Thanks for the help

Assuming the '75 listed in your prifile is the car in question and this is in the right (passenger side) storage compartment, I think that is one of the rear wireing harness connectors. You should have a alarm and other relay connections back there. Specifically the broken wires (Yellow, Black, Gray) look like they would be part of the seatbelt sensor system. Early '75's has seatbelt interlock. Many of these systems have been shorted/wired so they don't work as replacement parts are not made. This may be part of that type of a modification to your car.

Yes, it is a '75. Sorry for forgetting to mention it. It seems that it would be safe to tape the wires off and not worry about reconnecting them.

Thanks for the help
