I have road tar and some kind of asphalt stuff on my car. It will come off with wax if I rub real hard but I'm scared it will scratch the paint. Is there something I can use to get this junk off a little easier. Any ideas will be appreciated. Did the wax deal on a little spot down low and it seems to leave swirl marks. They will be able to be buffed out but man I would hat to see the whole car like that.
Got some on my Eclipse and used that "Bug and Tar Remover" from local parts place and it worked VERY well. Was easy to rub crap off and no paint problems whatsoever after about 2 years.

Bug and Tar Remover works great.. but it will take the wax off so limit your gentle rubbing to a small area.
WD-40 works great too.
GOJO also works great, BUT...just be be sure NOT to get the abrasive kind!! They make one that has grit in it, and that would be disasterous to paint!!
All of above will work, and I've used most of them. Main thing is to use a clean soft cloth, and keep changing to a new clean spot on the cloth, don't rug the stuff you take off in one spot, back in on the next location.
I have used a can of weather strip adhesive remover for years. I had it from when I redid my weather stripping and it does not hurt paint. (but does remove wax)
