12 volt drain
leaving the key on, so i thought, was not why my batt. went dead. charged battery up and put it back in. then i heard it. back by the left rear wheel, something is clicking on and off. like a breaker kicking in and out. could this be the power antenna. if it is shorted, why hasnt it blown a fuse and by the way, which fuse would it be. this might be why my radio quit. thanks, namvet (1981 vette)

Heard the same thing on my 74, it was the horn for the alarm, I jsut unplugged it. Burned the crap out of myself too because it had been going all day and was extremely hot to the touch.

one of the two, unplug the alarm and see if thats it then the antenna relay.
