I cheated because I didn't want to take a chance of stripping out the fitting or the fuel pump. (It's hard to get to!) So I cut the steel line about 4 inches from the pump. Then i just fed 3/8 steel braided gas line over it flush with the pump. Then I use a 6 AN on the end of the steel hose adapted up to 8AN filter and dual bowl fuel log

My pump also has the 5/16th return line.

HI,Thanks for the replies Guy's.HI Ed,It turned out not to be the fuel pump but the fitting from the pump to the filter.I got the car out side and up on the ramps and got a good look at it on friday afternoon.I loosened up the fitting and then retightned it with a little teflon on the threads and no leak so far.I changed the oil and filter anyway and had three people smell it and feel it and said I was CRAZY that it had oil in it.>My Imagination<. I have a fresh rebuilt engine with its first oil change at 40 miles>LOL<.I can get a new steel one for$29.Like you said maybe this is the way to go.Thanks Again ,Frank

That's where I got mine. I got Summitts' chrome dual feed chrome line/filter/fuel gauge. I think the lines/fittings are 6AN which = 6/16 which = 3/8.
